Images which appear to show a Rémy Julienne-wannabe were caught by security cameras on a British highway. A driver got into an argument with his girlfriend, stopped his silver Vauxhall Corsa on the hard shoulder of the M62 motorway and then proceeded to perform two handbrake turns right on the highway, according to UK's The Telegraph.
His actions caused some drivers to brake hard and almost created a pile-up, but thankfully no accident actually happened. Later identified as Mark Kirk, the idiotic driver was caught by CCTV cameras as he did two U-turns across several highway lanes, forcing other divers to brake hard and swerve around him.
But wait, this is not all. After he created the minor mayhem on the motorway he later attacked a police officer who was sent to investigate the happenings. According to the telegraph.co.uk report, Kirk repeatedly punched the officer in the head, broke his glasses and ended up rolling with him across the hard-shoulder.
After finally being arrested, Kirk was given a two-year conditional discharge because he is about to start a new job in Ireland. Even though he described the guy's driving as “lunatic”, judge Clement Goldstone admitted he could not give him a suspended prison sentence. “I cannot impose such a requirement in this case because you are not going to be here to fulfill it and I'm not going to set you up to fail,” said the judge.
Even so, the guy was banned from driving for two years and ordered to take an extended driving test when he is eligible to come back on the roads. He will also have to pay 1,800 British pounds in compensation to the assaulted officer and the court costs. Somehow, we believe that if this had happened in the US, that policeman would have been a very rich man by now.
