Lane splitting is definitely not the best way to ride on Russian roads, and doing this at high speed is a very good recipe for a serious crash.
Now, if we add the recklessness of a driver in this already nasty equation, things are even more sure to turn out a bad ending for the day.
The most surprising thing was that the driver seems to never look in the right side mirror, and not because he or she should be looking for incoming bikers, but because the car is about to change lanes!
Since the driver has obviously skipped checking with the adjacent lane, everything goes, as instead of the bike we could have has a large Kamaz truck full with logs or the like... and things would have turned for the worse with an almost certain pile-up.
Too bad for the lane-splitter and his excessive trust in the other road users, too bad for the unnecessary risk he took and finally, too bad the roads are full with such drivers...
