Drive Slow is not something the police tells fellow motorists to maintain a decent level of safety on the streets; it’s also one of Kanye West’s early songs. Sure, if you’re not into rap music it may not come to your likes. In this fellow’s case, however, Drive Slow would be a good piece of advice that, unfortunately, has failed to come.
Wait, relax, nothing tragic happened. There was no accident, just a bad day for the driver, who is now facing some serious charges. According to Spanish police, quoted by AFP, a man was arrested for speeding after they spotted a video on Facebook of him driving at 184 km/h (115 mph).

We’re talking about a 24-second clip that starts with a zoom in at the speedometer of the vehicle and then pans away to a young woman sitting beside the driver who sticks out her tongue and two smiling men in the back seats. According to the source, there’s even a voice of a man howling in the background.

Sounds like a perfect day trip only that it could have ended tragically. Luckily nobody was hurt. Besides the fellow’s records, that is, considering that police found they were driving on a stretch of the A-7 highway near the southern city of Malaga, where the speed limit is set at 80 km/h (49 mph).

If we were to trust our Spanish high school lessons, exceso de velocidad would be what you’d call speeding, and it’s been a lot of that with this guy considering the limit. Nevertheless, the question remains: is it fair to use social networks content to charge motorists?

Apparently it is in Spain, considering Police tracked down the driver of the car and detained him and fined one of the passengers who is seen in the video without his seatbelt on. According to the source, the authorities said the video appears to have been posted on Facebook by one of the passengers of the car.
