The game developers of racing sensation Driveclub have just released new footage showing two Lamborghini Veneno hypercars racing each other and it's better than anything we've seen so far from them.
Because Lamborghini only ever built 3 coupes and 9 roadsters of the mighty Veneno V12 machine, there will never be something like this happening in real life. And even if it did, it would be on a wide track in dry conditions. That's partly why Driveclub is much better than real life. For starters, the track is a narrow mountain pass and it's raining really hard.
The advantages of the next-gen graphics engine and PS4 console are immediately obvious, as every drop of rain and every blur of the lens helps you immerse yourself into the Veneno-on-Veneno dogfight. The soundtrack is also awesome, but that's only natural when you're dealing with Lamborghini's most exotic machine to date.
The car is part of a downloadable content pack due to come out next week that also includes the Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario, Huracan LP 610-4, Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse. But the only one that makes me go OMG is the Veneno – what an epic visual and aural experience!
Named after the Spanish word for poison, this amazing machine uses a 750 horsepower version of the 6.5-liter V12 used by the Aventador to power itself to a top speed of 356 km/h (221 mph).
The first time anybody ever laid eyes on the Veneno was at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. "Car Zero" as the first one was called came onto the stage and blew everybody away after which the company CEO came and said it costs a cool €3.12 million.
The following year, a roadster version was unveiled in Los Angeles and proved to be just as impressive. Lamborghini made 9 of those for the absurdly high sum of €3.3 million.
