'Drive' Movie Trailer Is Intense

There really isn’t a new car trick that can be invented right now, but that won’t stop people in need of pedal-to-the-metal action from going to see a car movie. Sure, there might be some variation, like using alien giant robots or animated cartoonish characters, but a good steering wheel tugging cinematic creation will always ‘sell’.

There’s a new one coming, and it’s simply called ‘Drive’. The movie aires this September and features young action star Ryan Gosling, playing the roll of “Driver,” a stunt double by day and robbery getaway driver by night. The trailer kicks off with Gosling’s character making bold claims: ”I don’t carry a gun. I drive.”

But when he’s called in to do a job for the husband of his beautiful neighbour Irene (Carey Mulligan), he suddenly finds himself the target of some very bad men. To keep Irene and her son alive, he’ll need to use all his skill. There’s gratuitous violence and big guns all over the place - just what we need!

The cast includes Carey Muligan, Oscar Isaac, Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks and Ron Perlman. If it’s got Christina Hendricks and a Ford Mustang in it, this is one of the films on our must watch list.

Drive also boasts the some amazing cinematography shot around LA. Director Nicolas Winding Refn recently picked up the Best Director prize at Cannes for this, and we’ll all soon see why.

Movies about fast cars tend to be about going over the top with the stunts. They’re often fun and a bit silly in places, yet this is just pure grit and strength.
