Drink And Drive – A Dream Come True

Alcohol is one of the main causes of car accidents nowadays although both authorities and car manufacturers struggle to prevent drunk driving. However, if you really want to practice it in a safe environment, using the Octane 120 Beer Arcade could be the smartest and the safest way of doing it. The Octane 120 Beer Arcade is a fully-featured device which combines three things adults have always dreamed about: video games, driving and beer.

"We designed the Octane 120 to feature everything that a guy could possibly want in a home arcade racing cabinet (or Home Theater!), including a beer tap, PC and PlayStation 3 compatibility, and a whopping 120 projection screen. We even have the user interface hooked up to YouTube and Hulu.com, so you can watch 80 s classics like A-Team, Air Wolf, Star Trek, and The Fall Guy with friends between races,” Michael Ware, founder of Dream Arcades, said in a press statement.

Now let's proceed to some technical specs. This so-called gadget incorporates a fully adjustable steering wheel and seat combined with gas, clutch and brake pedals featuring variable resistance. The whole device is based on a DLP projector with 2000 lumens, 2000:1 contrast and a maximum resolution of 1400x1050
pixels. The image is displayed on a 120-inch portable projection screen connected to a 5.1 audio surround system. In terms of compatibility, the device works with both PC and PS3, with several pre-installed tools.

The beer is that minor thing that makes this gadget special. The manufacturers installed a cup holder straight near the steering wheel while the beer tap allows you to refill your glass while driving / gaming / screaming.

Oh, and the price. Well, an 120-inch portable projection screen, a DLP projector, a 5.1 audio system and an adjustable steering wheel and seats, all of them combined with the in-dashboard beer tap raised the price of the device to... 7000 bucks. That's right, 7000 dollars but who says that turning your dream into reality is affordable?
