Drift Crowd Impressed by Lexus LFA in Tokyo

Toyota engineers worked for a really long time to ensure that they can offer a truly magnificent luxury supercar under the Lexus brand. It all started with an aluminum tube some 10 years ago, but that was swapped for feather-weight carbon fiber. Exotic materials aren’t cheap, so the Japanese mid-engined performance machine ended up with a huge price tag.

Add the fact that only 500 will ever be built, and you realize that plain mortals and people that aren’t associated with going super fast on a track will never get to have anything to do with the LFA. That fact was cruelly contradicted when we found out that Paris Hilton has one in pink, but people with lots of money will always have their way in the world.

If there’s only 500 and Paris Hilton already messed with one, then that should mean no one will ever get to do something silly with the LFA, right? Wrong! The Land of the Rising Sun, the country of origin for this performance machine, saw a gleaming white model in perfect condition being drifted around what looks more like a parking lot than a proper circuit. Oh, the horror!

It’s not actually that bad - the V10 engine is wailing away, there’s plenty of tire smoke and a couple of close calls. Thankfully, no LFAs were hurt in the making of these videos, so you can watch them knowing the supercar will live to drift another day, plus the wing even pops up to provide a bit of extra showmanship.
