Late last month, we took you into the wonderful world of the Russian winter drifting, with a pair of wheelmen daring the weather in their rear-wheel-drive monsters. We are now back on the topic, as the second episode of the shenanigan has been released.
The initiative comes from Russian drifter Sergey Kabargin, who asked a fellow drifter to join him in the quest of dealing with the caprices of the country's climate while going fully sideways.
Once again, the two engaged in drift battles in the forests adorning the Karelia region. With the average temperatures for the third month of the year, when the clip was filmed, sitting at 23 degrees Fahrenheit (that's -5 degrees Celsius), we expect their engines to have become ice-cooled rather than water-cooled. And no, we're not talking about the kind of ice system they use in the drag racing world.
The drifters hopped aboard a C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and a fourth-gen Toyota Supra, going all out on the slippery forest road. From individual moments to tough battles, the video below allows us to get a hefty taste of the action.
However, while the first clip was all about the good bits, this one also shows the bloopers. Having a hydraulic handbrake can help you correct many errors, while the miles and miles of sideways driving provide just the kind of experience required to do that. Nevertheless, when snow and ice decide it's time for a sudden grip change, you might not have time to adapt, which can lead to situations such as the one shown in the clip below.
Kabargin is far from his first attempt at putting on a show outside sanctioned drifting events, so, when this guy returns with a new stunt, we'll bring it to you. Until then, grab a blanket and hit the "play" button below.
