Top Fuel drag racing events are known for their loudness, excessive speeds and spectacular crashes.. especially the crashes. When 12,000 hp gets out of control, expect to see twisted metal, fire and wheels going by themselves for on and on after the crash.
And speaking of detached wheels, here is one that decides to separate from the dragster and win the race by itself. The driver, three times world Top Fuel champion Larry Dixon, was on his first pass on Australian soil, when he broke an axle in qualifying.

The plucky rear wheel snapped off the rear axle just after the start, continuing its way to the finnish line. Surprisingly, the driver managed to keep the beast under control, while it was doing a 360 degree spin.

We don’t know if it counts, but he actually made it through the finnish line, as his opponent slowed down seeing such a failure, not to mention that his wheel crossed the line before him. So...double win I suppose.
