One mean looking machine had been brought to our attention recently, which strikes like not an average custom naked bike. Born from a collaboration between the designers at Dragon TT and the builders at MotoYE, both Spanish companies, the Dragon TT Atila 1000 R concept first debuted at the 2010 EICMA show in Milan.

The prototype is powered by a modified 1000cc EXUP engine taken from an Yamaha R1, while using the chassis of an Yamaha GTS1000, which features one of the first single-sided RADD designs from James Parker. We are talking about the same man who has recently been working on Mission Motors’ latest Mission R electric superbike.

The power unit has been enhanced to produce 160 horsepower, while the chassis has been lightened. Even the front brake system is derived from Yamaha GTS, modified and lightened by Brembo brake pads.
Other aftermarket parts include Ohlins suspension and a few extra parts from Moriwaki.

The unusual motorcycle concept is sporting a single-sided front swing arm and hub-centre steering which make for an interesting on-road feel.

However, is the bike’s design that gives birth to controversy. The front end is very aggressively styled and features what looks to be a pair of ‘fangs’, creating the impression that it is ready to bite the tarmac. In addition to that, triple spoke wheels complete the visual upgrade. The extent of the wheels are 120/60/17 front and 180/55/17 rear.

On the other hand, you might as well forget to look at the rear end, if those fangs have already scared you off, as it continues the same aggressive theme.

If you're interested in purchasing the Atila 1000 R, it's yours for EUR39,000 (US$50,665 at the current exchange rate).
