Building a drag car is not that easy as you may think. It’s not all about fitting turbos and nitrous to a stock car until it makes enough horsepower to pull a train.
It’s useless to have 1,000 hp if you can’t put the down correctly. And along time we saw that wheel spin no only makes you go slower but also can lead to loss of control and crashing into the side walls.
And this Toyota Supra falls into that category despite its huge tires at the back. Luckily, it didn’t crash but, the wheel spin made it to go a bit slow, crossing the line in around 9 seconds. My guess us that without the spin, it could get around high sevens.
Power in this beast comes from a forged 2JZ six-cylinder, a big Garrett GT 55 turbocharger, a modified fuel system feeding it with methanol and all the power goes through the factory IRS rear end.
The exterior looks almost stock, with Pro-Tek Automotive putting only a sleek grille-less front bumper, modified hood and some vents on the side. Check it in the video bellow and don’t forget to crank up the volume.
