This next drag race fills our heads with naughty thoughts. The Russians gathered at the Moscow Mile recently finally put the most powerful house on wheels up against the most overpriced Porsche on the road. Both have about the same power output, but are as different as beer and vodka.
The Cayenne Turbo S has a powerful 4.8-liter engine that makes 550 hp and 750 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, has an even bigger 5.5-liter V8 biturbo that produces 544 hp and 760 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds, 0.9 seconds more than in the Porsche.
Of course, that doesn't really tell you which car is better, but since the G63 AMG has the aerodynamics of a house on wheels, it gets murdered on the drag strip. Its top speed is 210 km/h, while the Porsche will go all the way to 283 km/h.
The way the event is set up, it really doesn't matter which car left the line first.
But can you imagine what would happen if these two cars smashed into each other at speed?
In this battle of the super-SUVs, the Cayenne is more expensive at €146,000 in Germany, to the G63's €138,000. However, over time the G-Wagon will get you more girl because it's cooler, so the cost balances out.
