Now that winter is finally gone and the roads are starting to dry out, BMWs can drag race freely, doing all sorts of crazy stuff all around without losing too much traction.

That means that the drag racing season is open and the guys from M5Board.com quickly jumped at the chance to get some mad power out there and race their wheels off as soon as possible.

Their latest video showcases a BMW E60 M5 going up against an American Corvette Z06 and a more recent BMW F10 M5. At first they set out from 50 km/h (31 mph) and looked pretty evenly matched to a point.

Looking over the specs, it’s pretty easy to see why, too. The E60 M5 has a high-revving 5-liter V10 engine under the bonnet, making 507 HP and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque while weighing 1,830 kg (4,035 lbs).

The Corvette came prepared with a 7-liter V8 engine making 505 HP and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque, a claimed 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint of 3.9 seconds and 1,442 kg (3,180 lbs) weight that in the end paid off. The F10 M5 is the newest of the bunch and the only one that uses turbocharging. Its 4.4-liter V8 twin turbo unit makes 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque and carries the 2 tons of weight with no drama whatsoever, being faster than the other two by quite a lot, as you can see in the video below.
