A couple of days ago we’ve seen how a sporty Tesla Model S sedan narrowly won against a 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 in a quarter mile race. Now we’re back to show you an equally interesting drag strip video, but without the green factor, as both vehicles are part of the gas-guzzler kingdom.
We’re talking about a battle between the a muscly 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and a 2012 model year McLaren MP4-12C. The former might look like a sure loser here, but it’s far from being one, as the Detroit machine joined the venue a few bolt-ons, including a Roto-Fab cold air intake, American Racing headers and a Redline Motorsports tune.
The McLaren on the other hand is completely stock except for a minor tune and ran the quarter mile on street tires. The British sportscar won the battle, but it was a really tight call, with both vehicles pulling mid 10-second runs. Scroll below to watch the video.
