Dovizioso's Neck Still Not 100% Well, but He'll Be a Good Replacement for Rossi

Andrea Dovizioso replaces Valentino Rossi on the MotoGP Ducati 1 photo
Present at the Ducati-Ferrari Wroom 2013 common pre-season event, Ducati MotoGP rider Andrea Dovizioso has shed some light on what we can expect from 2013.
Asked about his neck injury which led him to an early stop for the Jerez tests in november 2012, Dovizioso replied that a deeper medical investigation revealed a micro-hernia at C5 and C6. Furthermore, his racing in the SuperMoto Simoncelli charity race and Monza Rally have not helped at all at the time.

However, after following medical procedures meant to reduce and dehydrate the hernia, Andrea Dovizioso says that even if his neck is not 100% recovered, this will not have a negative impact on his 2013 racing.

Asked about how does he feel about filling the position Rossi's departure left open, Dovizioso added that the fact the Rossi and Ducati have not attained any great success during the last two years makes things a lot easier: "However, over the last two years, Ducati and Valentino did not go that well. So to take his place today is not that much of the problem as it might have been in the past."

Dovi's team mate Nick Hayden also pointed out that Rossi has also done great things for Ducati: "Without him, maybe we would not have got the aluminium chassis as quick as we did" he added. With the presentation of the GP13 bike tomorrow, we really hope to sees strong comeback for Ducati, making the 2013 MotoGP a more thrilling competition.
