If you happen to be inside a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, racing a Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the best things you can do. Sure, it’s an uneven fight, but given the common naturally-aspirated goal, it’s a noble duel. Unless this happens to take place in full traffic, that is.
Unfortunately, the introduction above doesn’t come from our imagination. A pair of douchebag drivers decided to pit a 918 Spyder against a 360 CS on a busy road. And, out of all the places in the world, they chose the Swiss Alps.
Sure, the roads over there are sublime, but a high-speed crash taking place in such a tight, high-altitude environment could easily turn into a multi-vehicle disaster.
The drivers in question have no regard for their or other people’s safety, going all the way. They cross the double white line, overtake in corners with limited or no visibility and force other drivers to get out of the way. Perhaps this was a case where the soundtrack of the 360 CS, arguably the best-sounding modern Ferrari, helped, working as a warning for people in other cars.
Fortunately, the only “high point” of the street race was the moment when a truck driver honked at the pair of idiots. Not that this managed to stop them.
For instance, if the video, which comes from Swiss Race-Community, had better resolution and the Porsche could be identified, the drivers may end up in jail. Swiss traffic fines take a driver’s financial situation into consideration, so seven-figure fines are possible.
