If you have some free time this Saturday morning you might want to check out your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer, as the Stuttgart brand is about to celebrate the dealership premiere of both the new C-Class W205 and the GLA X156.
This, of course, should not happen if you live in the land of the free, as the both the GLA and the C-Class W205 will not hit US dealerships earlier than this Fall.

As some of you know, the all-new C-Class production will start in four different locations found on four different continents around the world in a time span of less than six months, while the GLA is currently being made only in Rastatt, Germany.

Both new models are expected to sell like hotcakes in the upcoming months, when they are rolled out in most major markets, so an increase in production capacity is on the drawing board in a number of locations, with the US being one of them.

“To date the C-Class has been the best-seller in our vehicle range - over 2.2 million customers have purchased a C-Class saloon, estate or coupé since 2007. The new model provides new dimensions in terms of technology, ecology, comfort, high-class appeal, driving pleasure and also a sense of spaciousness, and is a central building block in our Mercedes-Benz 2020 growth strategy,” said Ola Källenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales and ex-CEO of AMG.

“And with the GLA our strategic product initiative in the spring is supported by a second pillar: with it we are expanding the comprehensive SUV range from Mercedes-Benz with an emotionally appealing variant and as such are exploiting the constantly growing compact SUV segment.” Källenius concluded.

The most powerful model of the GLA-Class is naturally the 45 AMG version, which will be rolled out at the same time as the “regular” models. In charge of moving the sports compact crossover/SUV is the most powerful four-cylinder engine currently in production, a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 360 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque.
