Don’t Park Your Motorcycle Like This When It’s Wet

Grip is a very delicate matter when it comes to riding a motorcycle and thinking your rubber touches the asphalt in two spots the size of 1800s dollar coins should be enough to make you take things easier when it’s wet outside. Not for this guy, though.
Some studies show many motorcycle accidents occur near the riders' home. Apparently, when you are in range of your house/living area, there’s a click in your brain that makes you feel safer. This means you are more tempted to let your guard down and ride more erratically or absent-minded. Which can lead to stuff like this in the video below.

The only thing this Kawasaki Versys rider had to do in order to call it a day was to park his bike safely at the destination (probably home). The problem was he came in too hot in the parking spot so he had to turn in more aggressively not to run wide.

All this was happening on a rainy day on wet bricks, a recipe that most of the time results in a textbook low side crash, which, as expected, happens in this case too. Especially since the rider hit a patch of wet dirt on his approach.

The crash didn’t look too brutal, but, as the rider commented, he felt like his left arm broke as he landed on it. In fact, he had to keep it immobilized for three days. We’re glad he didn’t end up worse but with a valuable lesson - take it really easy when wet.

Except for this, you should also be extra careful when coming to a stop and have to put your foot down. Mind where you put it as you could step on loose gravel, dust or oil and most of the cases, you will drop your beloved machine.
