One could argue that the Donkervoort D8 GTO is too school for cool since it was unveiled in late 2011, but there's a way of shaking things up for an old dog called special edition.
I was just joking, the D8 GTO is no grandpa regardless of where you're standing. In fact, if Caterham Seven looks like a gentleman to you, think of the D8 GT0 as a hooligan high on testosterone.

However, that flame needs to be lit up once in a while, so Donkervoort came up with the Bare Naked Carbon Edition D8 GTO. Basically looking like the type of vehicle Batman would offer as a present for his son's sweet sixteen, the pumped up special edition has a dark side.

Well-kept under the hood, the monstrosity one would call engine is an Audi-sourced Audi 2.5L R5 TFSI petrol engine spitting 400 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is taken care of in 3.0 seconds, but the sprint can be sustained until the top speed of 255 km/h (158 mph) is reached. Of course, a dose of courage and manliness is required.

As the name suggests, this special edition D8 GTO comes packed with carbon fiber components both on the inside and on the outside. So, there's carbon fiber in the seats, door panels, window frames, dashboard and door sills. In addition, carbon fiber was used for the ignition cylinder housing, belt and roll-bar trim as well as headlight housing.

Donkervoort officials claim "every Bare Naked Carbon Edition undergoes a remarkable painting process, in which a unique UV-coating is applied to each carbon fibre component by hand, in either a matte or gloss finish, or even with a colour accent of the owner’s choosing". Naturally, some weight was shed off the D8 GTO's hips but we don't get to find out exactly how much.
