Honda no longer imports its cars from Japan to China, as most market-specific models are made by their 50-50 joint venture with the Chinese company Dongfeng.
Now, according to chinadaily.com.cn, the company will be recalling 76,415 Honda CR-Vs, manufactured between January 17th and June 19th, as reports indicate that these vehicles have an improperly designed door locking mechanism. This reminds us of another recent 190,000-strong recall, but this time it was one faced by Honda’s luxury brand for the American market, Acura (the ILX), as well as the CR-V.

The recall begings August 3rd and all owners will be notified and the fault will be remedied free of charge. This again poses questions regarding the increasing number of recalls being made by Honda, as well as other manufacturers - will it dent buyers’ confidence?
