Done in 60 Seconds - Lexus IS F CCS-R Swaps Engine With RC F

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit more for “plug-n-play” engines that can be swapped in 60 seconds, but this video shows on fast forward how the Lexus IS F CCS-R gets the RC F engine to race with it at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

The new Lexus RC F will house the same 5-liter V8 engine powering the IS F CCS-R racecar. However, it has been upgraded to push the power output from 416 to over 450 hp, while also using the Atkinson cycle in certain circumstances to reduce fuel consumption.

In order to make sure the engine will perform perfectly on the road car, Lexus fitted the actual IS F CCS-R with it and run the 2013 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

Check the short video bellow to see the engine transplant and its first start at the end. It’s eargasmic!
