Does This Ferrari F40 Burn Its Clutch While Drag Racing a 9ff Porsche 911?

Modern era Ferrari halo cars, which, in our books, stretch from the LaFerrari to the F40, are split into three main categories. It all has to do with garage queens, a small number of cars that only get occasional hooning and the kind of machines that are driven as if their owners had stolen them.
We're here to talk about a representative of the last category, namely a Yellow F40 whose driver enjoys attending supercar events. The piece of footage below, which is a bit of a throwback, since it takes us back to 2014, shows us the Maranello machine engaging in a drag race with a 9ff-massaged Porsche 911.

The event that saw the shenanigan taking place allowed the participating mechanical monster to stretch their mechanical legs, since it was held on an airfield.

And this Prancing Horse owner fully took advantage of that, going from tire-smoking launches to delicious donuts, as you'll be able to see in the second video below.

However, all the hooning might have taken its toll on the senior Fezza - with the second clip showing us what a proper tire-burning take-off involving this F40 looks like, we can't help but wonder if the start displayed in the first video doesn't show clutch smoke instead of burned rubber.

The smoke comes from the middle of the car, where its clutch happens to sit and starts being thrown into the air before we can notice any significant wheelspin.

Now, when you own such a car and drive it as you should, which does seem to be the case here, clutches do tend to become as unimportant as tires, so this is far from the end of the world.

Before you hit the "play" button below, you should know that while the 9ff delivers 675 hp, the F40 is also far from its standard 471 hp, having dialed all the way up to 600 ponies.
