Following disappointing results in the last two MotoGP seasons, Suzuki pulled out of the series for the moment, but it looks like something is brewing again in the Hamamatsu camp. While three factories (Honda, Yamaha and Ducati) are still refusing to use the ECU Dorna imposed for the MotoGP, they paid a visit to Magenti Marelli... and so did Suzuki.
There is no official confirmation for the Suzuki works team rejoining the MotoGP in 2014, but rumor has it they're evaluating the best ways for a comeback. Still they've got almost a full year to come up with a competitive bike, no matter whether they choose to race with the spec ECU or their own units
However, with the 2014 season, refusing to use the Marelli ECU means a 4-liter fuel penalty, the non-spec ECU bikes being allowed to carry only 20 liters of fuel (the others are allowed 24 liters). Crash.net asked HRC Vice-President Shuhei Nakamoto about the Suzuki comeback, but he replied that Honda has absolutely no info on the matter, and the best answers would most likely come form Suzuki. On a personal note, Nakamoto said he believes Suzuki will be back in MotoGP in 2014.
