Dodge Viper Goes Offroading, Sticks Out Like a Sore Thumb

When Dodge engineers came up with the Viper, offroading wasn't exactly a priority. However, this didn't stop the owner of the example sitting before us from engaging in rugged terrain-tackling activities.

And, thanks to the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, you'll get to see the supercars being driven on the kind of terrain a supercar shouldn't approach (no pun intended).

However, unlike in the case of other adventures of the sort, the Viper doesn't get hooned over raw land, so we can't complain about the owner mistreating the car.

All this brings us to the idea of the Gen V Viper's daily driving side. At first, the snake, with its 8.4-liter V10 motor, doesn't seem like a good idea for the role of a daily driver.

And that's because... it isn't. Then again, the Viper isn't as impractical as it might seem. Once you get used to getting off driveways via that uber-long nose, you'll be fine.

Speaking of which, the Internet sometimes dreams of a more practical Dodge Viper. And we're referring to a rendering we recently brought you.

The said pixel play portrays a Viper Shooting Brake. And there are two sides to this kind of dreaming. For one thing, the front-engined configuration of the machine means the idea of boosting the interior space makes sense.

Then again, the configuration of the car means a four-seater layout isn't feasible. However, the S/B body style boosts up the luggage capacity and with the demand for supercar adventures being on the rise on social media, this couldn't be a problem.

In the end, we could see an eccentric aficionado out there commissioning such a build. After all, we've shown you wilder builds, such as this Lamborghini Espada rat rod, which is based on an actual Raging Bull.
