Think you know how to deal with a flat tire on a modern-day Charger? Think again, as Dodge has a recall for you.
In what has to be one of the strangest callback campaigns we've seen over the last few years (and the NHTSA knows we've seen a few), Dodge is recalling its muscle sedan to offer wheel chocks to its owners.

The automaker explains the Charger's wheels should be secured whenever a flat tire episode is fixed.

"The chocks are for use, as instructed in the vehicle's owner's manual, when employing a tire jack to change wheels. When positioned diagonally opposite to the wheel being changed, the chocks will help stabilize the vehicle," an official statement reads, explaining the exact procedure than needs to be followed.

Without these chocks, the hefty sedan might fall off the jack. This is serious business, since the automaker explains it is aware of three injuries related to this - luckily, we're talking small injuries here.

The fact that the need for wheel chocks to be used is mentioned in the owner's manual should've prevented such issues, but we all know people love to skip reading the tech book, right?

Is your car affected?

The recall affects all Dodge Charger vehicles belonging to the 2011-2016 model years. Understandably, we're talking about a lot of cars here. To be more precise, the company says 441,578 units are found on US soil, 19,229 are in Canada, 4,969 in Mexico and 38,947 sit outside the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) region.

The campaign will see owners receiving a notice that will inform them of the operation's timeframe, with the wheel chocks obviously set to be delivered free of charge.

If you happen to have any question on this matter, feel free to contact Fiat Chrysler's US Customer Care Center at 1-800-853-1403.
