This just in from FCA US LLC - an official statement titled “Hose Seals” informs us that “2015 Dodge Challenger SRT coupes and Dodge Charger SRT sedans equipped with 6.2-liter V8 engines” are subjected to drop by the nearest dealer service center.
I kid you not - the brief recall announcement doesn’t even mention the “Hellcat” moniker, but we all know which derivative of the Dodge Challenger and Charger comes with a 6.2-liter vee-eight powerplant. Pretty curious why FCA didn’t mention the name of the beast.

Dear Dodge, we know that the SXT gets the 3.6L Pentastar V6, the R/T is powered by a 5.7L HEMI V8 and the 392 HEMI gets a 6.4L HEMI V8. What made it so hard for you to state that “the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat are the subject of a safety recall,” what? After all, this is minor compared to the 467k recalled SUVs...

Moving on to the subject of this recall, some 2,211 Hellcat-powered machines need to be inspected by an authorized mechanic. FCA informs that service departments will have to “replace fuel-delivery components that may leak.” Now that’s gives a whole new meaning to gas guzzler, LOL.

A dealer alerted FCA about a possible fuel leak right after a pre-delivery Hellcat vehicle inspection

Unaware of any related injuries, accidents or customer complaints, the company tells that although the components passed the supplier’s leak-testing, FCA US engineers launched an investigation and discovered that some hose seals haven’t been fitted properly.

Of those 2,211 examples of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, an estimated 2,012 are located in the United States, 148 units are in Canada, 30 examples in Mexico and 21 are believed to be outside the NAFTA region.

If you own a Hellcat-izied monster with the 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 under its hood, do contact the FCA Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403 for more info on the problem and repair scheduling.
