Ever wondered what you can do with a Dodge Demon and an Acura NSX? After all, one is a drag strip too, while the other is a supercar for those who have a hybrid tech early adopter fetish.
Well, you can throw the muscle car and the Japanese (come on, it's the Honda halo car, after all) supercar at each other in a drag race. And we've brought along just such a battle for today.

Of course, holding such a straight-line battle is no simple matter, at least not if you want to ensure the shenanigan is well-balanced.

And the adventure we have here, fortunately, ticks that box, so we can certainly say that both the Mopar king and the gas-electric Acura both enjoyed fair chances.

The two went at it in a scenic environment close to Las Vegas, as the battle took place "as part" of this year's SEMA event. So, was the strip of road prepped? Not quite, as the marks on the asphalt actually come from the Demon's rear tires. Which brings us to the problem of the uber-Challenger.

You see, this 840 horsepower missile was built for the drag strip, so its Nitto drag radial rear tires have serious trouble putting all the muscle to the road.

However, the HEMI wielder had to battle the twin-turbo V6 plus electric using a standing start on three separate occasions. So you should expect some serious giggles while checking out the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

Then again, the velocity tools also went at it using thee rolling starts. Sure, the electric zing of the Acura means this takes off instantly. However, the power-to-weight ratio of the Demon easily crushes that of the mid-engined machine.

Note that the drag racing action awaits you at the 6:34 point of the video below. Nevertheless, we'd also keep watching after the racing is over - have you ever wondered how the Boeing 767-300 does in the quarter- and half-mile? You'll get your answers in the final part of the clip.
