The Dodge Viper will end its production after the last example of the 2017 model year leaves the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant.
No successor is in store for the Viper, so this made the 2017 Dodge Viper an extremely desirable car, especially for diehard enthusiasts of the American sports car. In all the commotion, a dealer from North Carolina has announced it has ordered about “99 percent of remaining production.”

The merchant is called Gerry Wood Dodge, and the business is located in Salisbury, North Carolina. While their website and press release mention numbers that do not match when they refer to the Viper order that was placed, it is evident they have bought at least 135 units of the 2017 Viper. The same goes for the maximum number of units ordered, which would be 140 cars.

Since the dealer placed such a big Viper order, it even had the time to come up with “special editions,” which are models that come in unique color and accessory options. The dealer says it made a team that went through all the color selections of this model and chose three combos to create the said special editions.

The resulting cars are “ACR Solid Edition,” “Advanced Aero Solid Edition,” and “Black Stripe Edition.” About 39 of the cars ordered by Gerry Wood Dodge are “Special Edition” Viper models, while the rest are regular models, which do not have a predefined color option. Both categories are available for purchase on the dealer’s web page.

The seller claims that it wanted to make sure that the last year for the Dodge Viper will get manufactured to the maximum capacity, so that is the reason why it ordered so many of these cars.

Clashing with the unwritten law of supply and demand, the dealer told Jalopnik that it would not add a markup over MSRP on any of those Viper cars.

It is evident that this dealer will probably sell these units shortly after it gets them, and it also got much-needed attention about the business through this smart marketing move.

In the unfortunate case of not selling the entire order of Viper models, the dealer can always store one somewhere and sell it in 30 years. It should make a killing at Amelia Island or Pebble Beach.
