Dodge Dart Boosts Chrysler's US Sales

Chrysler has reported US sales in March went up 5 percent compared to the same month last year, thanks mainly to its Dodge Dart four-door compact.

The Auburn Hills-based company sold 171,606 units last month, 8,091 of which were Dodge Dart models. The Chrysler 200 also helped boost sales figures, with the mid-size sedan delivering 11 percent more units compared to February.

Chrysler is actually enjoying increasing sales for the 36th month in a row, which is the automaker's longest span yet. No wonder they want to build no less than 250,000 units of their all-new Jeep Cherokee per year.

"We’re seeing the Dart gain a little bit of traction,” Kelley Blue Book’s analyst Alec Gutierrez said. “Last year, the story was all around Jeep and that brand keeping Chrysler’s story going along. There’s going to be a little bit of a lag in their product line on the Jeep side for now."
