The Dodge Charger (as well as the Challenger, for that matter) is the perfect example of the fact that you can actually teach an old dog new tricks and with amazing results. You see, the current incarnation of the muscle sedan was introduced back in 2005, for the 2006 model year and the Mopar people have continued to deliver updates meanwhile. However, there are also owners who grabbed those early models and decided to keep up by taking their four-door muscle cars down the customization route.
The SRT8 was one of the early bad boys, having debuted at the 2005 New York Auto Show. Well, the example we have here is a 2007 model, one that has received multiple custom touches.
With a factory output of 425 ponies, the 6.1-liter HEMI under the hood can one-up the HEMI monster animating the original Mopar machines, while delivering a meaty 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of twist. However, this example features a performance cam setup, so it's not only more muscular, but also sounds even meaner. Alas, there's not that much you can do for the just-okay five-speed automatic tranny.
And while the visual transformation is what truly sets this Charger apart, it's worth noting that it only took a few changes to get there.
The most striking element is the wrap adorning the generous real estate. This apparently symbolizes Hades, which, in Greek mythology, was the god of the underworld.
Then again, while the said god ruled over the dead, this Dodge is very much alive, sitting on wheels whose design sits pretty close to what we've seen on the 840 hp insanity that is the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.
The ride height has been reduced, with this obviously lending an even sharper image to the car, but not much else was done to the super-sedan. To be more precise, we're talking about a diffuser-style element for the rear apron and a window tint that gives a whole new meaning to the word darkness.
