At first glance, the Dodge Charger is a straightforward car. The platform is a pretty old one, and the design hasn't really changed that much over the years. But the American muscle sedan has been pushed into many strange directions thanks to a large following of customization fans.
We've seen low-riders or sedans with Lambo doors. There's some crazy stuff out there, but the Shirokai body kit is one of the best ways to take the Charger design to the next level.
Even though you might not recognize the brand, you're probably at least familiar with @scat_pack_rich's Bronze Bruiser, a metallic brown Charger Scat Pack that takes the widebody life seriously. It does that thanks to its big skirts, numerous air vents, and in-your-face aero, not to mention the custom wrap.
But as cool as custom Dodge's products are, there's something they don't offer, which is a mid-engined layout. It's not a traditional American configuration, but the Corvette shifted everybody's expectations when it comes to what a sports car is supposed to be. Plus, there's also Dom's mid-engined Charger from the Fast & Furious movies.
This interesting Charger sports car is created by digital artist chopping_pixels, who started off with the other major Shirokai project car in America. We've included more photos of the matte black monster in the gallery, just because it's so cool. He kept most of the front end look, but smoothed out the widebody to flow with the stock fenders rather than being a bolt-on job.
The real Photoshop magic is at the back, though. Instead of a sedan body, you have a 2-door layout with a tent-like roof and large scoops feeding air to the relocated engine. It looks a bit like the original NSX, a custom one with air ride and funky wheels.
