After winning an important battle for supplying police cars after the death of the Ford Crown Victory, Chrysler is now facing a recall for these vehicles, with almost 10,000 units of the Dodge Charger patrol cars set to be called back due to electrical system issues.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a total of 9,688 units of the vehicle will be recalled due to the fact that a low beam headlamp failure could occur as a result of an overheated bulb harness connector, while other vehicle could experience failure of the ABS and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) due to an overheating issue with the power distribution center.
Chrysler will notify the authorities, with dealers set to inspect the vehicles and replace the faulty parts free of charge, just like they would for civilian vehicles.
