The Nissan GT-R and the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat couldn’t be more different. Nevertheless, people will always find a way to organize a pretty fair fight between such opponents and the drag race shown in the video below.
The clip sees Godzilla going head to head with “Mom’s Car” (this is the message sent out by the Hellcat’s licence plate) in a drag race that sees both drivers doing their best to prove a strong point.
Both machines were in stock condition and this GT-R seems to be the 560 HP version. And yes, this is the same Charger from the Hellcat vs Z06 video we showed you last month.
The specs of the two cars are rather interesting to compare. While the supercharged Challenger has 3 kg/hp, the GT-R sits below it, at 3.4 kg/hp. Nevertheless, the GT-R quarter mile time can go as low as 10.7 seconds, while the Charger Hellcat needs 11.4 seconds for the same task.
The only question that remains unanswered is what would happen if the Charger would be replaced by a Challenger Hellcat. Still, we have a feeling this won’t remain unanswered for too long. Then again, if both cars would be racing on slicks, the situation might have been different.
The delicious difference between the two contemporary performance icons also makes for a tasty soundtrack, with the resulting supercharged and twin-turbocharged V14 melange being a treat for the ears.
