Dodge Challenger SUV Rendering Looks Like the Urus Cure

The internet is full of these memes about Mustangs and Corvettes that cost way less than supercars yet have more power. People love big numbers, but so far, there's only been one SUV equivalent, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Dodge Challenger SUV Rendering Looks Like the Urus Cure
After blowing up all over your YouTube feed, this ultra version of the Grand Cherokee has disappeared from your radar. So instead we ask this: why can't we have a Challenger SUV with the same overpowered engine?

Sure, the two would overlap somewhat, but that never stopped the Germans. Under the hood of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Bentley Bentayga, and Lamborghini Urus, you will find a similar 4-liter bi-turbo V8. This is how they supposedly keep costs down, although, with most examples going over $200,000, it seems they're not doing a very good job.

This creature lives somewhere between abomination and godsent. It was made by the Russians at Kolesa, who usually just render cars that are close to production, but since they looked at every important upcoming debut, the Challenger SUV project was dusted off and turned into reality.

We bet there have been renderings like this before, but this one feels real and comes just as the performance industry is migrating towards SUVs. Ex GM exec Bob Lutz recently said it would be better to have a Corvette SUV instead of the mid-engined C8, and from a sales point of view, he's right. Go to a Corvette gathering and you'll see many retired men, not the customers big companies want.

Lamborghini can't keep up with Urus demand, while Aston Martin is looking to launch its exotic activity vehicle. Ferrari will be next, proving that's where the big money is. But besides the Jeep that we just mentioned, America has no real answer. Of course, as you may have heard, there's a Mustang-inspired electric SUV on its way.
