The European leg of the 2015 Gumball Rally ended today and we’ll return with a live report soon, as one of our own is indulging in the adventure. Meanwhile, a Dodge Challenger Hellcat owner in the US, where the cars are headed now, decided to make something that, to us, sounds like his own Gumball Rally.
Once he took delivery of his 707 HP machine, the man grabbed his SO, as well as a friend and set off across the country. Speaking of his buddy, the guy happens to be a photographer, so the road trip ended up being documented in 85 pics.
While we’ve included some of those in the gallery below, you can see the full gallery here (the guy posted his story on Reddit).
Before you move on to the images though, you might be wondering how the idea was born - sure, you don’t need an actual reason to take your ridiculously-powerful-yet-still-cozy muscle car around the country, but this guy came up with an excuse.
He decided to make the trip after having waited quite a lot to receive his Hellcat. In fact, the man placed the deposit back in August last year. At the time, he was living in Massachusetts, but he got relocated to LA until the car arrived - the man received an order number in September 2014 while the Mopar machine arrived earlier this month.
The trip took five days and included all sorts of fun times, from taking the Challenger out to the desert to meeting a Charger.
