Dodge Challenger Hellcat Loses Control While Street Racing Corvette, Spins Violently

We’re talking about a Challenger Hellcat that street raced a Chevrolet Corvette over the weekend, losing control during the battle. Rumor has it the race took place in Tennessee, but we can’t be certain of such details.

While the Mopar machine comes in stock form, the Corvette, a C6 Grand Sport, is gifted with a set of mods such as an aggressive cam.

The race started in the most American way possible (read: on a straight), and the battle was tight, with the drivers deciding to let an upcoming turn seal the deal.

As the cars were exiting the twist, the guy in the Hellcat lost it. As the Mopar machine started sliding, the driver overcorrected, which led to the muscle car spinning the other way. From that point on, the guy slammed on the brakes, accelerating the Challenger’s spinning.

The Dodge pulled a 270-degree turn, which helped it kill the speed. While the Hellcat’s rear end did step outside the tarmac, that was the worst consequence of the spin.

Fortunately, both the driver and the car escaped the crash without any physical reminder of the tense moment. That was one troubled way of losing to a C6 Corvette.

Judging by the videos found on the YouTube account that posted the clip, this is far from being that Hellcat’s first street racing event. Since the owner can’t help it, perhaps he should at least stick to battling Shelby GT500s in a straight line (check out the second clip below and you’ll understand).
