Dodge Challenger Hellcat Drag Races Tuned BMW M4 in Highway Traffic

After all, one of them is a muscle car, while the other is a German sportscar, so they have different destinations. Then again, how could one devise a challenge (no pun intended) that would see them competing against each other with fair chances?

Well, the piece of footage at the bottom of the page seems to deliver a recipe for the said purpose. And it's all about a drag race between the Hellcat and the M4.

Sure, the stock BMW doesn't stand a chance against the supercharged HEMI, but the Bimmer we have here has been taken to the gym.

To be more precise, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six motor of the M car has been gifted with a custom intake, a complete exhaust setup, as well as the obvious ECU remap. Note that we're looking at an example fitted with the dual-clutch tranny, as the M4 can also be had in manual form.

When it comes to the Dodge Challenger Hellcat that battled the BMW, the supercharged toy came in factory stock form, meaning that its 6.2-liter V8 delivers 707 ponies.

However, there are some details of this Hellcat that kept it from charging at the Bimmer with all its might. For one thing, we're looking at a unit fitted with the six-speed manual, not the eight-speed torque converter tranny.

Then there's the fact that while the scale footprint isn't exactly an advantage for the Challenger, the driver of the Hellcat is considerably heavier than that of the M4, while somebody was riding shotgun in the Dodge.

According to the YouTuber behind the wheel of the Hellcat, the whole idea behind the race was to convince the BMW M4 driver, who used to own a Challenger, to return to the Mopar side.

Alas, the two duked it out in traffic and we're asking you not to use their fight as an example and keep racing for the drag strip.
