Global politics are one thing, but Russians absolutely love American-flavored luxury and excess, especially in the automotive department. This shocking machine is their work, a Dodge Challenger dubbed "Mad Max" by its creators.
We're not quite sure this low-riding Challenger is the type of muscle car you'd drive to Gas Town. However, it's undeniably mad, blending elements from many different brands and genres that have almost nothing to do with Dodge.
This is the work of the Russian tuning company SCL Performance, which are behind yesterday's unhinged Lexus crossovers and most likely the Tyrannos Jeep Grand Cherokee. Speaking of Jeep, check out those headlights.
We're probably not supposed to call them that, but those look like Jeep headlights to us. The wabbly C-shaped LED halo also somehow connects the Challenger to defunct but beloved muscle cars of the past. You can imagine the grille frame from a 1971 Plymouth GTX if you want or maybe see a resemblance to the 1971 Cuda in the grille department.
The "Mad Max" body kit also completely replaces the bumper of the car, making it look like a bit German. The hood is also new, and both sets of fenders received vents. The ones at the back are so large you'd think there's an engine back there, which there obviously isn't.
Around the back, the SCL package also adds exhaust tips made of aluminum or stainless steel, a rear brake light in F1 style, mid spoiler, and custom made headlights. Everything is designed to fit any Dodge Challenger, even the ones from 2008.
Obviously, this isn't for everybody. But we felt compelled to tell you that the package exists since it's one of the strangest modern muscle car makeovers ever. Likewise, we need to reveal the price, a steep €9,300 or $10,400, and that's before you try to ship it over from Russia.
