The Pokemon media franchise started as a vide game from Nintendo created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996. Originally released as a pair of interlinkable Game Boy role-playing video games, Pokemon rapidly became the second-most successful video game-based media franchise in the world, starting to appear in anime, manga, trading cards, toys, books and other media.
Speaking of other media, Toyota built three distinct Pokemon-themed vehicles for the Tokyo Toy Show 2012, held at the international exhibition center in June.

The first and instantly-recognizable one by anyone who saw at least a Pokemon episode, is the Pikachu Toyota Porte, which comes with included nose, mouth, red cheeks, ears and tail, which is followed by a sister car impersonating Mijyumaru (or Oshawott).

The third car is a Toyota Alphard van that pays tribute to the Pokemon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice, which was released in the summer of 2012.
