Do You Have a Sleeping Bag at Work? Well, Guess Who Does (Tip: Rhymes with Tusk)

During Tesla's first quarter earnings call from yesterday, Musk talked about the company's plans, the need to boost production in the wake of the Model 3 launch, the scheduled date for when production should begin, and also the volumes his company should be able to deliver.
His speech, however, also contained some unique information on what a tour of the Tesla's CEO office could reveal: “I’m personally spending an enormous amount of time on the production line. I have a sleeping bag and desk at the end of the production line which I use quite frequently.”

There's a very good reason most of us don't have a sleeping bag at work: we'd probably end up using it more than we should and we'd end up fired. Well, Elon Musk doesn't have to worry about that as there's nobody to fire him, but there is a company that could go bankrupt if he spent most of his time at work tucked away inside a cozy makeshift bed.

This story makes me think of one man who is probably the exact opposite of Elon Musk in almost every way: George Costanza. Yes, the bald character from the Seinfeld show somehow manages to make his way into one of my stories again, this time to illustrate the perils of sleeping at work. Well, I think it's more likely there's a George in all of us than it is an Elon Musk.

The Tesla CEO is a known workaholic, so the only reason he would have a sleeping bag in his office isn't to take a quick nap after the nap he took following the lunch break, but to eliminate the time wasted commuting to and from work. If we were a tabloid, we would also mention the state of his personal life as further proof of the sleeping solution's usefulness, but we're not, so we won't.
