Djokovic Plays Baroque-style Tennis in Peugeot 308 Commercial

In what we can only describe as a stroke of genius, Peugeot signed tennis ace Novak Djokovic as one of their brand ambassadors. The guy is funny, and everybody knows who he is, especially in France. That's what you need to sell cars.

This latest marketing campaign from the lion-branded automaker is called "Better Sensations". Novak is trapped in a dream world where he is forced to play tennis in a rigid, unwelcoming society.

We think the music and dress code is typical of the baroque style from King Louis the XIV's era. We have weird men shoes with high heels and clothes that constrict, so no wonder that the French Open camp can't play at his full level.

After he removes his "shackles", the ATP number 1 wipes the floor with his pompous prick of an opponent. However, the referee refuses to listen to his suggestions for "improving the game for more fun or better sensation."

At this point, Djokovic wakes up behind the wheel of the Peugeot 308, which we think is the GT model. It's ironic, because Peugeot's warm hatch has been criticized for having artificial sound piped through the speakers to simulate exhaust.

Also, the CEO of the French car brand has pretty much made it clear that the RCZ coupe won't have a successor. As for the hardcore 308 GTi, they are taking their oh-so-sweet time. So much for "more fun and better sensations"!

The 27-year-old legend of the clay court has also done commercials for Peugeot's smaller 208. We're curious what he'll dress up as next time, maybe an astronaut that talks about space being the final frontier in the 5008.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
