Dita Von Teese's '39 Chrysler New Yorker Up for Grabs

The Queen of Burlesque, glamour and fetish model Dita Von Teese is auctioning her '39 Chrysler New Yorker on eBay. The car was the brand's flagship model for several years and helped define the company as a maker of upscale models.

Von Teese owned the car since 1997 and has done many photo shoots with it. The vehicle was even used in a short film made by her unhinged husband and gruesome rock star, Marilyn Manson.

Dita seemingly has a passion for vintage china, particularly eggcups and tea sets, but she also has a thing for rare classic cars. Apart from the '39 New Yorker, the occasional actress also owns a 1965 Jaguar S-Type, although the latter looks kinda odd to be driven by such a curvaceous and seductive woman. However, for a day-by-day car, the eccentric model drives a not-so-eccentric BMW Z4.

The New Yorker, on the other hand, had made its mark as the longest running American car nameplate, being produced since 1939 to 1996, spanning over eleven generations. The car featured a conservative styling, the more avant-gardist look of the ill-fated Airflow having been previously rejected by the public.

The car has not been used for a few years and it will require some cosmetic refurbishments as it was lightly touched by rust, a car's worst nemesis. The car was initially listed at $5,350 but is quickly drawing attention and the price is jumping faster than you can type in your credit card number. With just five days to go, the lucky buyer will also get a personally signed photo of Dita and the car together.
