As one of the world leaders of of automotive supplies and components for diesel engines, you’ll find some Bosch component in most modern diesel engines. They have announced that they believe that the market share for diesels in the US is set to grow considerably within the next 3 years.
With Porsche, Cadillac, Chevrolet and Chrysler all expected to offer a diesel car in their range within the next 18 months, we can clearly see the trend. Diesel cars only account for about 3% of the total market share in the U.S. and the percentage is expected to rise to 10% by the year 2015.

Ten percent is still nowhere near what one may find in an European country, such as Germany, France or the UK where the percentage stands around the 50% mark. We can only hope that Americans’ misconceptions about diesels will be a thing of the past as the new generation of ultra-clean and high-performance diesels make their way onto the marketplace.
