Diego Maradona’s Porsche 924 Up for Grabs

One of the most controversial figures in football history, Diego Maradona is widely regarded as the best football player of all time. The drug abuse, massive weight gain and financial problems of his life could not wipe off his career achievements. Achievements which can help the owner of a Porsche 924, formerly owned by the Argentine player, sell the car on JamesList for a higher price.

This model was made in Germany in 1979 and imported a year later, and is now on sale for $500,000 along with papers that show the original ownership by Maradona.

“The car was registered in Argentina by the football legend Maradona on the 22nd February 1980 when Maradona was only 19 years old. Perhaps the only car registered solely in his name from the time of his football career,” the ad placed on the jameslist.com reads.

“He sold the car just before being transferred to the Spanish football club Barcelona. Owned since by serious collectors who has kept the car in very good condition. Comes with all original papers and certificates stating that this is indeed Diego Armando Maradona's car,” it continues.

Maradona started his professional career in 1976, when he began playing for Argentinos Juniors, later moving to other clubs such as Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Sevilla and Napoli. He played in four FIFA World Cup Tournaments, including the 1986 event when he won the Golden Ball award as the tournament’s best player. He finally retired on his 37th birthday in 1997.
