When you’re a near-billionaire, you can afford to go all out to spoil those you love the most. Case in point: Diddy, the world-famous rapper, producer, fashion mogul, and businessman.
On December 21, Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, turned 80. To mark this milestone and honor the woman without whom, Diddy says, he wouldn’t have amounted to much in life, he went all out with a lavish (and packed) birthday party and at least two equally lavish gifts.
Much from the party was shared on social media, on Diddy’s IG Stories, and also on his son’s and his friends’ social media. You can see a decent recap of what went down in the YouTube video available at the bottom of the page, including the jaw-dropping moment when Diddy gave Janice a check for $1 million and a $300,000+ Bentley Mulsanne.
The party took place at an L.A. mansion. Diddy held a short speech about how his mother was very picky and, as such, he decided against getting her an actual present for her birthday. He then handed her a blue box, which many assumed was from Tiffany’s, in which he’d placed a signed check for $1 million.
Later that evening, Diddy escorted Janice outside, where a black Mulsanne with “peanut butter gut” colored seats rolled slowly in, red ribbon and everything. He informed the birthday girl that this present came with an add-on in the form of a personal driver. Because, clearly, you don’t get a Mulsanne to be seen driving it yourself.
“I only exist because of this beautiful, hardworking, loving, hilarious, a**-whooping, always telling me the truth, genuine, smart, fly absolutely amazing Black Goddess Queen!!” Diddy later shared on Instagram. “Happy 80th Birthday to the best mother in the world! Love you forever and ever!... and this is actually her at 80 ... no filter ... no edit!!!”
That’s a lot of exclamations points right there, but Diddy is worth an estimated $885 million. If he can afford to dole out luxury cars and checks like that, he can afford as many of these as he wants.
