The 2015 MTV Best Movie Award went to The Fault in Our Stars, but it doesn’t mean Furious 7 didn’t get its fair share of appreciation. In fact, the long-awaited movie was that successful producer Vin Diesel is already looking forward to the eight installment, an epic movie that the actor said would be Paul’s way of saying thanks.
Well, it was a lot of appreciation, but no actual award to be fully honest. Nevertheless, in just two weeks the latest installment of the Fast and Furious saga scored a worldwide haul of $800 million. Some of the showbiz critics even believe it might reach the $1 billion mark in three weeks time. Three weeks! Who needs awards, with that sort of income, right?

The point is the crew is already looking forward to the next movie. It’s just like Jay-Z’s big hit goes “On to the next one, on to the next one”. And the next one also was confirmed by Universal Pictures. In fact, Vin Diesel only confirmed the news, talking to MTV News reporters backstage at Sunday night’s Movie Awards.

The fact that the world embraced it and allowed it to be Paul’s legacy, it’s just a beautiful thing. Paul used to say that [Fast & Furious] 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass. So, if fate has it — fate, F8 — then you’ll get it. ‘Furious 7′ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul” Diesel said.

Bars will most likely be raised, supercars ruined, and further tears will drop, but what we’re truly interested in is the list of cars the movie will feature. No word on that so far.

If Furious 7’s most epic scenes probably were when Vin Diesel tried to take down a chopper with his Charger or when the Lykan hypercar jumped from one skyscraper to another in Dubai, we’re wondering what’s next.
