No, really, are we looking at a C8 Chevrolet Corvette adorned with Prancing Horse badges? This image says so, but it might as well be a Photoshop job. Regardless, we should find out if this is a virtual or a real stunt soon, since this is the Chevy halo car of the Daily Driven Exotics YouTube channel, so let's look at the clues and hints meanwhile, shall we?
For starters, the said channel, which is spearheaded by Canadian entrepreneur Damon Fryer, delivers some of the wildest supercar/hypercar stunts on social media. For one, the crew is currently building a twin-turbo incarnation of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, so these guys are no strangers to putting their hardware where their mouth is.

Then there's their recent LaFerrari experience - asking the audience if buying a LaF for the channel, as opposed to sticking to the C8 Corvette, the guys brought the two mid-engined machines together, as you can see in the second Instagram posts below. So now we know where the inspiration for the "LaCorvette" nameplate, which will definitely stick around regardless of whether it accompanies a build or not, came from.

Of course, as aptly mentioned in the Insta post showcasing the Maranello-branded 'Vette, this is the sort of stuff that trigger's Ferrari's cease and desist legal leverage, a path that has seem more than a few social media stunts of the sort getting shut down by the Italian automotive producer's lawyers. Heck, Ferrari has even sent this sort of letter to digital artists delivering renderings involving its cars. Then again, there are tricksters who might have gotten away with such shenanigans.

However, we can be certain that this C8 Chevrolet Corvette is going to be modded to hell heaven and back. The sub-60k starting price of the C8 means half the Internet is dreaming about customizing the thing and giving exotics a hard time, so these guys simply couldn't miss the opportunity.

As highlighted in the third posts below, the LT2 motor of the Chevy halo car has already been gifted with a titanium exhaust, but a twin-turbo kit wouldn't be a surprise - that numberplate is on the house.

Besides, Corvettes have been compared to Ferraris for quite a while now, so upsetting purists in this fashion is nothing new. Either way, we should find out the truth soon and we'll update this story accordingly.

Update:No, the Ferrari badging on the C8 Corvette wasn't a photoshop job, but it didn't involve actual badges either. Instead, the Chevrolet halo car was fitted with stickers... you know, for weight reduction and legal action cushioning (besides, this is a bit of a trend nowadays)? Regardless, you can check out the shenanigan in the video at the bottom of the page.
