While Detroit Electric's brand new Lotus Elise-based EV sportscar we showed you yesterday won't enter production until August, the revived company is already showcasing future plans, promising two new vehicles by the end of 2014.
Surprisingly enough, the new electric cars won't be just some variants of the SP:01, but different vehicles altogether, the US company planning to introduce a sedan and a hatchback for "everyday practical usage".
Both vehicles will reportedly cost far less than the $135,000 priced SP:01 and one of them could hit the market in the $30,000 - $35,000 range. The new EVs will be developed on existing platforms as well, but Detroit Electric declined to divulge further details.
According to Autoblog, the Michigan-based automaker will reveal more information about a partnership with a global manufacturer at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show later this month.
