Desperate Plea to Find 2007 Toyota Camry Goes Viral: I Got Drunk and Lost My Car

We’ve all been there at least once: waking up after an all-nighter and having issues with remembering what exactly went down. This is a next level-type of binge, with one owner losing his car and still unable to find it several days later.

So he’s turned to the oldest solution in the book, that of posting fliers around town (Minneapolis), in the hope someone will come forward with clues. A photo of one such flier made its way to reddit (courtesy of user iGoalie) and, as they say, the rest is history.

“I may have saved your life or your child’s,” the text starts off. “But now I can’t find my car.” This is a rather odd – and funny – statement and it speaks for the level of intoxication the owner must’ve been in. And it gets only stranger from here.

“I got too drunk, parked my car, and rode with a friend,” the text says. “We think it’s somewhere in the northern parts of Hennepin County, parked on a residential street.”

With the text are two photos of the car, a 2007 Toyota Camry, and one of them shows it parked over the curb, which has prompted jokes that this guy (or gal) isn’t a good driver even when they’re sober. A mention of a reward is made, but no precise amount offered.

Hennepin County is over 600 square miles (1,554 square km) and counts with over 1.1 million residents, so saying the car is somewhere in the northern part is like asking to find the proverbial needle in the haystack. Again, this speaks for kind of binge this owner must’ve been on to lose the car and literally have no idea where he might have left it.

The flier raises some valid questions as well. For instance, if he “parked” the car, he had to drive it, which means he did drunk-drive for at least a short while, or why isn’t the friend who picked him up more helpful to take him to the car – unless he too was drunk and can’t remember a thing.

So, while the flier takes the chevalier stance of “I saved a life by not driving drunk,” the reality is probably somewhat different. Keeping in mind that drunk-driving remains a leading cause of accidents, don’t ever be this guy: leave you car at home when you go bar-hopping.
