Design the Livery for a Le Mans 24 Hours Race Aston Martin

Dunlop created an appealing marketing campaign that will see European amateur and professional artists become a part of the racing world.

The tiremaker’s competition gives users the chance to design the livery of an Aston Martin Vantage GT2 that will take part in this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours race.

The European Livery Competition allows entries from Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Each country’s top four designs will enter a pan-European semi-final, where they will be voted by the public, with 5 finalists to be chosen. The winning design, which will be used on the factory supported JMW Motorsport 200 mph Vantage racecar, will be unveiled just days before hitting the track.

In addition to that, the winning designer will receive a visit to the Centro Stile of Pininfarina in Turin, Italy and a cash prize.

"It's the chance of a lifetime for one artist to really show their creative flair in front of a global audience and we very much hope the 2010 winner will come from the UK. The 2009 competition attracted almost 200 entries and this year we expect that figure to increase again. Ultimately, we're looking for a creative design that catches the eye and stands out for the crowds and also reflects Dunlop's winning pedigree at such an iconic event as the Le Mans 24 Hours. We know there are some fantastic artists in the UK and Ireland - whether already established or coming through the ranks at various schools or colleges - and we very much look forward to seeing how they tackle what is a very unique challenge for this very special competition," said Dunlop UK's James Bailey.

If you live in one of the aforementioned countries and you want to have a go, you can visit the competition’s dedicated website here.
